Renowned newspaper cartoonist and social commentator Bruce Petty contributed a few spirited cover designs for WRC in the early years. His signature style can be seen even in this drawing for a children's record, created c. 1960.

- Artist, author, designer, illustrator and occasional sculptor Geoff Hocking was born in Bendigo, Victoria Australia. He studied art and design at, what was then known as the Bendigo Technical College, and has over a 40 year career in design worked as a designer/illustrator in both Australia and the UK, lectured in Graphic Design at both Swinburne and La Trobe Universities, published around 30 books (illustrated and authored) painted, exhibited and won a couple of public sculpture commissions.
